The Lineated Foliage-gleaner is a montane species in Ecuador, occurring along both Andean slopes from about 800 to 2,500 m in humid forests and forest edges. It is generally uncommon but regularly encountered, often joining mixed-species flocks as it probes bark, moss, and epiphytes for insects and other arthropods. The species is currently assessed as Least Concern by the IUCN, though ongoing deforestation and habitat fragmentation may cause localized declines. Its bold streaked plumage and active foraging style make it a distinctive member of Ecuador’s Andean bird communities.
