*Top 50 Target Species (pretty factor off-the-charts)
In Ecuador, the Swallow Tanager is a fairly common resident of humid lowland forests and forest edges east of the Andes, typically found below 1,500 meters. Males are unmistakable with their glossy turquoise plumage and black mask, while females sport a subtler greenish hue; both forage actively for fruit and insects, often perching conspicuously or joining mixed-species flocks. Though not migratory, it ranges widely across the Amazonian basin, including provinces like Napo and Sucumbíos. Its population is stable and listed as Least Concern by the IUCN, thanks in part to its tolerance of secondary growth and fragmented habitats.
