Blue-capped Tanager

It is generally uncommon but regularly observed, often joining mixed-species flocks in the midstory and canopy, where it forages for fruit and insects with deliberate movements. The species is listed as Least Concern by the IUCN, with a broad Andean range and a stable population that tolerates moderate habitat disturbance. Natural history observations highlight its vivid blue crown, greenish body, and quiet vocalizations, though its nesting biology in Ecuador remains poorly documented.
