The Pacific Parrotlet is a small parrot of Ecuador’s western lowlands, ranging from sea level up to about 1,500 m in dry forests, scrub, and agricultural areas. It is fairly common in suitable habitat, often seen in noisy flocks perched on wires or feeding on seeds and fruits in open country. The species is currently assessed as Least Concern by the IUCN, though ongoing deforestation and habitat conversion may cause localized declines. Its bright green plumage and lively social behavior make it a conspicuous member of Ecuador’s lowland avifauna.
