Day 01.- Arrival in Quito - City Tour
Arrive in Quito. Assistance and transfer from the airport to the hotel Patio Andaluz. The four star Hotel Patio Andaluz is a national treasure that holds history within its walls. Situated in the heart of the historic Old City of Quito, which was declared the first cultural heritage of the world by UNESCO in 1978, the hotel is surrounded by churches, museums, and national monuments. It is a marvelous colonial building dating back to the foundation of Quito, and has been beautifully and meticulously restored. Enjoy the enchantment of this elegant, 31-room boutique hotel, with wide corridors, expansive stairways, large arches, balconies, and towering atrium-style patios, which lend to the feeling of a long-ago Quito. Day 02.- Quito-Yanacocha-Bellavista
Breakfast. We leave to bird watch around Yanacocha with a packed lunch also birding on the Nono-Mindo Road and arriving in the evening at Bellavista Lodge for the night. Breakfast /Lunch /Dinner

Day 03.- Bellavista-Mindo
After breakfast we bird watch in the Bellavista area until lunch after which we continue to bird watch along the route to Mindo. Dinner and spend the night at Birdwatchers House in Mindo. B/L/D

Day 04.- Birdwatching in Mindo Cloud Forest
Birding the entire day in Mindo cloud forest. Dinner and spend the night at Birdwatchers House in Mindo. B/L/D

Day 05.-Mindo-Pedro Vicente Maldonado-Mindo
Today we bird watch in an area dominant with tropical forest called Pedro Vicente Maldonado at an elevation of 450m. Here we will sight many endemic species of the northwest that can only otherwise be found in Colombia. Dinner and spend the night at Birdwatchers House in Mindo. B/L/D

Day 06.- Birdwatching in Mindo Cloud Forest
Today we visit a part of the cloudforest that is between 900 and 1200m where we can encounter many of the endemic species of this region. Dinner and spend the night at Birdwatchers House in Mindo. B/L/D

Day 07.- Mindo-Tandayapa-Mindo
Today we visit the Tanadayapa regions and other parts of the Nono-Mindo road. Dinner and spend the night at Birdwatchers House in Mindo. B/L/D

Day 08.- Mindo-Quito
At 5am we leave to see the famous Andean Cock of the Rock who´s display starts at 6am. Afterwards we return to the hotel for lunch birding along the way. After lunch we drive back to the hotel in Quito. Transfer to the Hotel Patio Andaluz B/L/

Day 09.- Transfer Out.
After the last day in Ecuador we will bring you to the airport and say good-bye hoping to welcome you another time here in the Middle of the World. B/-/-

The price includes: All transfers, English speaking ornithologist guide, National park entrance fee, accommodation in double rooms at San Rafael Lodge, meals as mentioned above, free purified water, rubber boots, rain ponchos. Our guides are equipped with cell phones for emergencies.
Not included: International Flights, International Airport taxes USD 25,- accommodation in Quito, Single accommodation (available up on request and with extra cost), binoculars, alcoholic beverages, tips, personal items and travel insurance!
Equipment needed for Your Trip:
Comfortable trekking Boots, warm clothes, water proof clothes, binoculars (Rain Poncho, rubber boots, we provide if you want), sun cream, sun glasses, hat, camera, film (100 ASA), and travel alarm clock, flashlight with batteries, zip-lock bags to keep clothing and equipment dry, tennis shoes, gloves, shorts, cotton clothes, long sleeves shirts, pants (but not jeans) towel and personal toilet kit.

For groups of more than four, departures can be any day, including special itineraries.
The difficulty of access to the area demands relatively long 4WD auto drives.
